SHe - for all the he that together make she

'I tried to Google (browse) to find a good appealing quote for one of my friend who is a male for a favor done by him. He is one among those who motivated me to hold the pen back that I had dropped years back and if I am writing, it is all because of him. Here to my surprise I could not find one single quote for men in one go that is presentable enough. '…. Thanks again to you I got a topic to write on!

Accepted that our culture is patriarchal and men gains respect more than they deserve at times, they get lot of privilege and so on. Now just give a rewind, do the current society really give the level of significance as it decrees to a man? I really do doubt… The agenda of women empowerment has struck our brain so hard that our heart has lost its existence.

In a queue may be a man waiting right from morning all throughout hours, still if a group of ladies approach the same queue voices rise, " excuse me gentleman haven't you heard the term ladies first? "After long hours of work a man might have just got a transport wherein he gets a couple of minute to stretch and relax and there again," how is this guy with no etiquettes… there is a lady standing and he is enjoying a good ride!"

We have perceived that men are hard like boulders, strong enough to face any circumstances or any level of stress on them and yes, they do not have to undergo as a women do. We have forgotten that men are too human beings with feelings and pain, and they too do get hurt. As women even at times we aggrieve a lot on the ease of role that a man has to perform; but do really feeding a family which may range from 2 to (I don't know till what especially for an Indian family) single handedly? How easy is it for a man to shoulder the mental burden of kilos of files and papers and mails simply to return home to shoulder his little ones to bring a smile on their face that conquers the world for him? Is it as relaxed as it seems to be?

Then why we are not empathetic towards them? At times, I find there creeps in a sense of revenge for all discrimination women faced or is facing. Just a thought are we really on the right track. Is this what we mean by women empowerment? If yes, then in no time there will rise of Men Redressal Cells (seems hilarious but logical). Here I got the word DISCRIMINATION, are we not discriminating as a woman. Does women empowerment in any sense back discrimination? What is the requirement, equality or dominance of women? Are we fighting for our rights of equality or against the existence of men?

What the Indian Constitution too emphasis is equality and with the little bit of acquaintance that I possess, women empowerment is, fetching equal rights and opportunities for women like men do. This concept today is very misinterpreted, twisted, and molded into a framework, which states it as to be something totally against men, and the true essence of the movement disguises into a dark philosophy. Today for women it is as if just they matters and it is just they who suffer and sacrifice, and soon will a day come when women will disown their men (seems exaggeration but is it not so?).

What I am concerned is about the imbalance prevalent in society. It is about a logical unbiased society, which should be the focus of every individual. In the clamor to gain your rights do not forget the fingers that taught you to walk. the shoulders that made you feel being on the top of the world… those care and concern of a brother… the hands and heart that promised you to be the only woman with whom he will share his and yours joy and sorrow… the arms that make you feel secured like never before… the touch that directly can be felt by your heart through motherhood.

We need to understand that, existence of each other is necessary for human race to go on. It is he and she, and not either he or she. You cannot stand-alone; it should be like united we stand and divided we make the fallen stand again. Mutual understanding, co-operation and concern are the kernel to keep the humanity ignited. The aim should be eradication of discrimination and not eradication of either of the two genders. As to keep moving, both the wheels of a bicycle has to rotate simultaneously, similarly for the world to keep the pace forward he and she have to keep moving together.

Remember there are men who walk along you when you are walking on a lonely road, there are men who protest and protect risking their life and there are men who shelter you even though they bear the odds... Respect them, accept them and walk along for a better society.
